PSE&G employees offer sage advice to Passaic County Technical Institute students

PSE&G’s employees from the Oakland Gas District presented to the students and faculty of Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, New Jersey, during a recent career day event. Gas technicians from PSE&G spoke to 65 students about possible career paths in the natural gas industry for high school graduates. Students also had a hands-on lesson about the vehicles and equipment used when working with natural gas.

“Our union employees, with decades of experience, provided the students with sage advice for those who wish to pursue a career in utility work,” said Stephen Conte, Oakland Gas process analyst.

“They were definitely excited when we started talking about benefits available to all PSE&G employees and, in general, they were curious, ambitious and asked a lot of questions. Oakland’s Local Inclusion Team strives to encourage diversity within Gas Operations, and by partnering with PCTI, we are able to develop enduring relationships with students and faculty that are sure to be mutually beneficial.”
