PSE&G prepares for hurricane season with major outage exercise

Just when you think it can’t get worse than a snowstorm on Halloween, several critical facilities lose power, including one as a result of a nearby plane crash – or so went the scenario of this year’s preparedness exercise held earlier in June.

More than 150 employees participated in the five-hour exercise to continuously improve PSE&G’s ability to respond to a calamity.

Reminiscent of an actual 2011 storm and held as we count down to the 10th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, the drill was in keeping with PSE&G’s commitment to Powering Progress. The exercise simulated a loss of power to 75% or more of our customers due to a severe storm, helping ensure the utility’s ability to respond to emergencies and continue to provide safe, reliable and resilient energy.

“It’s exercises like this that continue to keep the lights on,” said Marco Valdivia, a New Jersey Board of Public Utilities research scientist who observed the undertaking. “This is always a great event to test your inter-operational skills at PSE&G, considering your size in the state.”

The exercise, a hybrid of remote and on-location participants, involved employees who serve in every PSE&G department and represent the thousands who would engage during an actual emergency. Required by the NJBPU, the drill was coordinated by Nancy Harris, Matt Khaled and Dante Pasquale in Emergency Preparedness. Key support organizations, such as Information Technology, Corporate Communications and Regional Public Affairs also participated.

“Having drills like this affords us opportunities to exercise and evaluate our strengths and weaknesses,” said John Latka, senior vice president, Electric Transmission & Distribution. “It’s a good chance for everyone to look at your response plans, make sure they are up to date and evaluate the what-ifs. I’m always so proud of how we come together as a team and battle these things.”

In addition to a summer preparedness checklist and tests of response plans, PSE&G has invested $4.8 billion in infrastructure improvements in the past decade to enhance resiliency and maintain reliability. Thanks to the hard work of our employees and the investments in infrastructure upgrades, PSE&G customers have power more than 99% of the time.

  • With a walk for Easter I found a lot of information on electricity and storms and the floorplans and Actions of the floorplans as in Actions of the sidewalk, Actions of the pedestrians, customers, consumers, the words chosen for the retailer are the actions of the people that polish the ground and we as people have invitations into all places it is at the entrance of the city being visited, sometimes obstructed like NYC; it is obstructed by Macy’s until the walkthrough is registered, I am preparing for it and seeing if you or people want articles to support the House of Legislation and the laws everyone has to stay within. I have no way of communicating until I get my email back. The polishers being obstructed cause storms; most of the storms you find or come in conflict with could be checked into at the major retailers of NYC or NJ as the Amusement Parks were found and beaches were found within the walkthrough because it is all based on being man-made not government so it is a walkthrough to find a Holy-war and it is complete. The storm is God locked into a life plan that does not belong in that place the plan is an Identity Theft lift to stop the storm. It is one of the Natural Disasters of three, if their are four then it is a rollover plan (half-plan) acting as a full-life-plan. The Book “The Reign of the KingFisher, a novel by T.J. Martinson at the Hoboken Library is about the storm of 1978. It starts with saying “its the storm of 1983 in Chicago Illinois…” We as people know it is a storm of 1978 we remember and the date of 1983 is a high-school graduating year of our block of Boyd Road a missionary group family like the book “The Covenant” five families; to stop the storms re-align the names and high school graduating class-Status. Someone graduated with a G.E.D and said it was someone else, changing or tampering with graduating class status is a federal offense. You have the walkthrough geographical route of Liberty NY, Fallsburg, Monticello, Indiana, Wisconsin, Chicago. Chicago being the banks being filled and Marshall Fields Mall, Macy’s took over to get to NY for an emergency. We also covered Music, Movies and Books of 1985, 1986 and 1987. Any years crossing over with identity theft will cause a storm. Look for my webpage on Facebook with ywallgren or yvonnewallgren regarding the Twilight Dogs and Storms.

  • Hurricane’s are from the people not giving the storm the proper circulation like Martyrs double Martyring from one country to the other and possibly registering the circuit but not staying, they should not stay but the circuit can not be in the Census then. There is a timeframe people are being shown where they are from but they have to return where they came in from, to be on the Census list once instead of staying where they are visiting and being registered twice. If they are mission based leave when their mission is finished.
