Local library “checks out” the benefits of energy efficiency

The Township of East Brunswick stretches across more than 22 miles of central New Jersey real estate and is home to a diverse population of 47,000 who have cultivated a municipality with an outstanding school system and a strong mix of housing, commercial and recreational options.

The East Brunswick Public Library helps to anchor this thriving community with more than 335,000 patrons passing through the doors annually. The library is one of the busiest municipal library buildings in the state of New Jersey. It has achieved national recognition for the quality of its collections, programs and services, as well as continually being named as one of the “Best Public Libraries in Central New Jersey” by readers of the Home News Tribune.

Over the past 17 years, our dedicated employees have volunteered countless hours spreading love throughout our communities. From services for youth to low-income families to schools, emergency responders, arts and animal rescue, the nonprofits our employees dedicate themselves to are as diverse as the employees who support them.

Returning the Favor

Hurricane Irma caused catastrophic damage across the Caribbean and Florida – to homes, businesses and infrastructure. In response, utility crews from around the country, even including  Canada, were called to serve in what became the largest U.S. power restoration team ever assembled. PSE&G crews from New Jersey and Long Island were among the heroes who braved heat and humidity to restore power throughout Florida. With our crews safely back home, we sat down with PSE&G’s own mutual aid expert, Ernie Cadiz, to get a better understanding of how this process works.
